Things of Pinterest: The Garden Party

This week pinterest got me thinking about garden parties.  I've never had one, and I think it's about time to start.  Don't you?  I mean, just look how magical they are: http://wideopenspaces.squarespace.com/wide-open-spaces/orange-party.html I love how this party is just out in the middle of a field.  Except my allergies are punishing me for even thinking about it. http://www.stylemepretty.com/2010/08/02/summer-garden-party-inspiration/ I love the bare light bulbs for an evening garden party/dinner.  And the colors are perfect-o. http://www.graphic-exchange.com/exellence/style-files.htm The bird cages!  I totally love it.  Lots and lots.  And lots. http://www.shelterness.com/29-cool-backyard-design-ideas/pictures/8798/ This party setting makes me think of fairies and little happy gnomes....

Free Printable Magnetic Bookmarks

Motivating my kids to keep up their reading in the summer usually has to include bribes, because days are sunny and pools are calling.  So while I was perusing for bribes I came across these super adorable magnetic bookmarks on Disney's Family Fun site. Happy summer reading!  (I'm thinking...

It's frustrating for all involved.  (Mostly for me.)  So I did something about it. I got all super organized on them and have a list of daily chores for each child, plus chore wheels for rotating tasks, plus I have listed the rules (which includes mostly stuff like "no whining"), and to top it all off I...

Things of Pinterest: Homemade Popsicles

This week Pinterest has been inspiring me to make popsicles.  Oh sweet popsicle love.  Here are my favorite homemade popsicle pins: http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/samoa-popsicles-recipe/ Because Somoa's are EVERYONE'S favorite Girl Scout cookie (that's a proven fact, don't fight it, they're undeniably delicious). http://blog.houseoffifty.com/2012/06/delicious-hot-weather-treat.html Long name, super amazing taste.  Plus they just look pretty. http://lostgardenblog.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/strawberry-banana-popsicles-with-a-twist/ Not just strawberry and banana, there are other healthy things mixed in.  Because what better way to trick your kids into eating spinach than freezing it and calling it banana flavored? http://butterflyfoodie.blogspot.com/2010/06/outdoor-treats-and-eats-part-one_19.html This kind is made out of different juices.  YUM-O.  Pick your flavors and combos.  Endless possibilities...
