12 Ways to Use Clipart for Gifts this Christmas!
Share
Christmas gifts are always more special when they're personalized, but sometimes it can be overwhelming to figure out what, and how, to create something unique. That's where we come in!
Clipart is the number one best resource for creating unique and personalized Christmas gifts!
Here are 12 ways you can use Dorky Doodle clipart as Christmas gifts this year! We'll include suggestions on how to create these ideas, as well as some places you can use to receive a professional looking item with the art you've chosen.
1. Framed Art
This is by far the easiest way to use Dorky Doodles clipart as a gift! All you need to do is purchase your favorite clipart set in the shop and print it. Choose the frame first, so you know what size to print the image.
If printing things at home stresses you out, take the file to your local Staples store, or upload the design to Walmart or Walgreens and use their poster printing service. The right combo of frame and clipart makes a thoughtful and professional looking gift that your loved ones will cherish!
2. Festive Bottle Labels for Parties
Do you have a holiday party that needs an extra festive flair? Or do you want to jazz up your treat for Santa this year? Use Dorky Doodles clipart to create bottle labels, cupcake toppers, banners, and other decor! Bottle labels are really easy to make, just create a rectangular document that is wide enough to wrap around your bottle, drop in some clipart, and print on white cardstock. Then cut out the rectangles and tape them around your bottles.
This simple method can turn an ugly water bottle into a party decoration, or turn a simple bottle of milk into a gift fit for Santa!
3. Custom Dishtowels
Who doesn't love a fresh new dishtowel?! Plus they're very easy to make! You'll need a white dish towel and some heat transfer paper. Refer to our towel tutorial for beginners for step by step instructions on how to make this using a heatpress (although, you can just use an iron if you don't have a heatpress).
If you'd prefer to get your towel printed elsewhere and have it shipped to you finished and ready to go, check out Zazzle, Personalization Mall, Snapfish, or Mary's Kitchen Flour Sack Towels.
4. Personalized Ornaments
Ornaments are such fun keepsakes, and always a good addition to all your gift giving! Especially if you use our watercolor family characters - we have so many options you can customize an ornament for everyone you know!
You can have these ornaments produced in a few different places. My number one suggestion would be Shutterfly - they have an assortment of sizes and styles to choose from and do high quality work! A couple other options are Custom Ink and Personalization Mall.
5. Cute and Fun Aprons
Make a holiday apron, or check out the thousands of fun images (in all different themes) we have in our shop to create a truly personalized gift! You can use heat transfer paper for this project on some white apron blanks. Aprons are especially fun if you include the name of the chef with the design!
If you'd like to get your apron printed professionally and shipped to you, check out Personalization Mall or Zazzle.
6. Pillows for Any Occasion!
Throw pillows are such a great gift and can make any room more cheerful! Choose from simple wordart for the pillow you're creating, or check out some of our square designs! You can use heat transfer paper for this project if you're feeling crafty, or try Canvas Champ or Vistaprint to have your pillow professionally created and shipped to you.
7. Personalized Greeting Cards
Unique greeting cards are just a couple clicks away! Use any of our Dorky Doodle Christmas clipart, and print them at home on some blank kraft paper cards. (If you don't like kraft paper, white cards are even easier to print on.)
There are lots of places to choose from if you want your cards printed at a professional quality. Check out Snapfish, Shutterfly, Vistaprint, or even your local Staples!
8. Christmas Stickers
Stickers are a fun and easy way to make your holiday gifts stand out. Treats for the neighbors? Slap a sticker on it and call it done! The simplest at-home sticker method uses these Avery round stickers that come with a link to a template for printing. Or you can get some sheets of vinyl sticker paper and cut out any shape or size of stickers using a cricut, silhouette, or good old fashioned scissors.
There are lots of companies that will print high quality professional stickers for you. Most of them require having a certain amount printed, but a lot of the time it's a low amount (like 10). Here are some of my favorite sticker companies: Sticker Giant, Sticker Mule, Make Stickers, Sticker App, and Vistaprint.
9. Personalized T-Shirt Designs
Custom shirts (or bibs, or sweatshirts, or pillowcases, etc.) are an extra neat way to show your love this holiday season! Create one of a kind items for all the people on your list by using Dorky Doodles clipart, heat transfer paper, and a heatpress or iron. Add names or words to the designs if you want to give each of them even more personality! (Refer to our towel tutorial for beginners for instructions on how to use the transfer paper and press.)
There are multiple places online that you can order printed tshirts with your custom designs. You can check out Zazzle, Custom Ink, or Uber Prints. But I have to sing the praises of Sticker Mule for a second and say that if you want some high quality work, you should go there (they do tshirts and stickers).
10. Festive Fabric Gift Bags
Maybe the gift inside isn't homemade, but you can still wrap it in a cute personalized cloth gift bag. Adding names to each bag makes these extra special! The bags come in multiple sizes, so these also work to hold treats for neighbors and coworkers. You can make these at home if you get some blank fabric bags, and heat transfer paper (tshirts, pillows, aprons, bags - they're all created very similarly at home.)
This particular item is hard to find printed professionally, the only option for professional production I could find was Zazzle's selection of gift bags. They don't look the same, but are still a fun way to personalize your gift giving!
11. Personalized Mugs
Mugs are a fabulous custom Christmas gift (or anytime gift, really). They make great teacher gifts, grandparent gifts, friend gifts, etc. Use any Dorky Doodle clipart to create whatever theme of mug you want!
Honesty time - I've never made my own mugs. I know that you can get porcelain mug blanks and a press that heats evenly around the mugs, but I've never tried it. So here are some companies that will print your custom mugs (which seems so much easier!): Vistaprint, Cafe Press, Snapfish, Zazzle, or Shutterfly.
12. Crafty Custom Gift Tags
These gift tags not only create a personalized touch, but will also impress your friends and family with very little effort! A few years ago I made a tutorial on how to easily turn Dorky Doodle clipart into custom tags. It's so easy, even small children can pull off this craft!
There are places that will print hang tags for you, but don't do it! Just grab some kraft paper tags and your favorite Christmas clipart and get to crafting! Everything is always more special when you've put in a little bit of time and effort, right?!
I hope this list of gifts has inspired you to start crafting your own special holiday goodies! To help you on your gifting way, here's a special code to get your 50% off our entire collection of clipart and watercolor singles!
